The first step when building a campaign, is selecting your audience. Your audience defines who you will be targeting with your campaign. Your audience selection will be determined based on your Campaign Objective. For Retargeting objective campaigns, you'll select from First Party Audiences. For Prospecting objective campaigns, you'll select from Third Party Audiences

Selecting First Party Audiences
If you have selected the Retargeting campaign objective, you'll be prompted to select a First Party Audience to use for audience targeting on your campaigns. First Party Audiences target users who have visited your site. You can refine your audience targeting based on users' behavior and activity on your site.

When selecting your First Party Audience, you can either choose an existing audience or create a new audience.
Choosing an Existing Retargeting Audience
- Browse your previously created audiences to locate the audience you would like to use for targeting.
- Once located, click on the audience, then select Apply Audience to attach it to your campaign.
Creating a New Retargeting Audience
- Select the "Create New Audience" button in the top right of the audience modal.
- From the First Party Audience Builder, refine your audience by toggling the settings for User Visit Window, User Activity Patterns, and User Location.
- Once complete, input the name of your audience at the top of the screen.
- Then, select Apply to Campaign to save and attach the audience to your campaign.
Selecting Third Party Audiences
If you have selected the Prospecting campaign objective, you'll be prompted to select a Third Party Audience to use for audience targeting on your campaigns. Third Party Audiences target users based on demographics, interest, location, and even your CRM data.
