The content of your ad creative is reviewed to ensure your ads meet guidelines set by our networks.
There are also general MNTN guidelines applied when reviewing your content. To make sure you are designing your ads to avoid any content violations, please avoid the following:
Adult Content | Make sure that any content used in your ads or destination landing pages are appropriate for all ages. We cannot move forward with approval if your ads contain nudity, graphic language, or adult concepts. |
Tobacco Products | Your ads should not promote tobacco or tobacco-related products, including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, tobacco pipes, hookahs, hookah lounges, rolling papers, vaporized tobacco delivery devices, and electronic cigarettes. |
Body Images |
In line with our policy on adult content, sexualized images cannot be approved. Avoid nudity (implied or explicit), unnecessary skin exposure or cleavage, or other tactics designed to solicit a sexual response. |
Brand Notification |
Your visitor should be able to have a clear understanding of where they will be going if they click on your ad. In accordance with this policy, we require that the brand shown on the ad match the brand of the destination landing page. |
Shock Value |
Do not use images that are visually disturbing, gory, or designed to shock or scare. |
Spam Tactics |
Tactics designed to mislead a visitor are strictly prohibited. We cannot approve ads that:
|
Personally Targeted Messaging | Due to the highly targeted nature of retargeting, we need to be especially sensitive to user privacy. This is something to be particularly careful with if your website focuses on products or services for a specific audience. Even if your website meets our content requirements, targeted messaging that implies knowledge of an individual’s personal circumstances (see Special Interests) will not be approved. Avoiding the pronoun “you” is a very good first step. |
Violence and Weapons | Your ads should not depict gratuitous violence. In the same vein, we cannot approve ads that contain pictures of guns or other firearms. |
Alcohol | We cannot approve any ads that depict alcohol or alcohol consumption. |
Spy Cams and Surveillance Equipment | Ads should not promote the sale of spy cams, mobile phone trackers, or other surveillance equipment hidden in products such as pens, keys, etc. This excludes any promotion of private detective services. |
Fake Documents | Your ads should not contain or promote fake documents such as degrees, passports, immigration papers, etc. |
Inflammatory or Derogatory Personal, Political and Religious Content | Your ads should not express hatred or intent of violence against any individual or group, particularly surrounding the race, sex, creed, national origin, religious affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or language of that individual or group. We advocate freedom of political speech, however we do not tolerate the use of derogatory language for political purposes, as this leads to high negative feedback from people. |
Penny Auctions | Your ads should not promote penny auctions, bidding fee auctions, and other similar business models. |
Counterfeit Goods | Your ads should not promote or facilitate the sale of counterfeit goods. |
Lotteries | Ads must target people above the age of 18 who are in the jurisdiction that controls the lottery commission. For example, the New York lottery can only advertise or sponsor in the state of New York. Also, pages must gate access to people above the age of 18 who are in the jurisdiction that controls the lottery commission. |
